I hope everyone has had a restful and fulfilling off-season
so far. Lord knows it's well deserved. The record snow falls we've
been experiencing has made it difficult to get a lot of tree work done
this winter but the skiing and snowmobiling has been epic so far.
We had our first board meeting of 2008 at the turf conference and things became apparent right from the start that we had many challenges ahead of us with the beginning of the New Year. Our website is coming along well, check it out at www.mgcsa.com. I hope you'll find it useful. We are always looking for suggestions to make it better. Please send yours to Jack at the office in Yarmouth. We also wanted to put a new emphasis on educational opportunities at our monthly meetings. Jim Hodge is our Committee chairman and has already put together some great topics in this regard. Our memberships numbers could also use a boost to get back to the days of old. Many ideas have been discussed on how we should go about this task' again we would like to here from all of you regarding ways to entice more members.
I am honored to have the opportunity to work with all of you in the up coming year to build upon this great association's already many great causes, I see 2008 as being one of the best years for opportunity in the business of golf. With a committed board of directors and hands on membership, I see no end in sight for our association and golf.
I look forward to seeing you all in the near future.
Be sure to take some time for the really important things in life like family and friends, Spring will be here before we know it so it's now or never for a lot of us.
Life is short. Enjoy the ride!
